About Dabble

bookmaker-cards

Dabble is a modern-day betting site in every sense of the word. Far from the cookie-cutter new betting sites that are popping up left, right and centre in recent years, this betting site has a strong focus on innovation and fun, providing a fresh betting experience for punters through an emphasis on the social side of betting.

Dabble stood out from the moment they entered the industry back in 2021, primarily because they took a risk that few, if any, of their competitors ever have by not even bothering to create a desktop site. Recognising the growth in popularity of betting apps, they instead chose to focus all their attention on the mobile side of things, and it shows.

Of course, there is plenty more to like about them than just an app, and throughout the course of this Dabble review we’ll take a look in detail at everything they do well, and where they could improve. Quick hint; there is a lot more of the former of those things than the latter.

While there are numerous international betting sites that have, over the years, launched an Australian branch, Dabble has gone the other way. Founded in Australia, such has been their success that they have been able to take their services overseas, a sure sign that they are doing something right. So without further ado, let’s dive right in and take a look at exactly what that is.

Dabble Racing

Horse racing

Next in this Dabble review, we head to racing – something that they do very, very well. We’ll start with the odds. Dabble’s racing section is easily accessible on the app by simply clicking the ‘Betting’ tab at the bottom of the app, which will take you straight through to upcoming racing. This includes thoroughbreds, harness and greyhound betting.

On each race page, you can take a look at the markets – which are just all the standard ones – or you can toggle to activities, which lets you see what bets punters you follow have placed. You can also check out all the standard information about each runner, including their stats, speed, flucs and comments about each of them.

Perhaps best of all, for certain races, you’ll also notice a little tab up the top left-hand corner of your page which says ‘Watch Now’ with a Sky Racing logo. As you might have guessed, that means you can stream the Aussie races live directly on the Dabble app, so you can place your bet and watch the race unfold all in the one place.

It’s clear that it’s a really user-friendly racing platform, but we haven’t yet talked about perhaps the most important thing; the odds. Dabble doesn’t disappoint here, either. They offer elite odds, with both favourites and outsiders generally both right up there with the better odds going around.

Take an upcoming domestic race, for example. The favourite is paying between $2.50 and $2.70 with major betting sites, and with Dabble it’s $2.70. The close second-favourite is anywhere from $2.80 to $3.00 with other bookies, and it’s $3.00 with Dabble. This extends to the outsiders too, each of whom tend to have odds with Dabble as good as just about anywhere, and is the case whether you’re betting on the mid-week winter races, or diving into the Melbourne Cup betting markets.

Dabble App

betting-apps

Betting apps are important for every betting site in the mobile-dominated world in which we live, but for Dabble that fact is compounded by the fact that there is no Dabble betting site – only an app. The app is all they’ve got so they’d want it to be good, and unsurprisingly given it’s the only place their designers need to focus their attention, it is.

Downloadable on iOS and Android devices, when you first open the Dabble app you’ll be greeted by a bunch of pages outlining some of the special features of this betting site – including the social features they offer, their unique promos and more. Once you scroll through these – or skip them, if you want – you’ll be able to either sign up, or browse the site first.

Once you get through to the app itself, you’ll notice it is laid out pretty differently to most other bookies. In fact, on first glance, the whole betting part doesn’t even look like the main component of the app! Instead, you’ll have a ‘feed’ which displays various profiles and stories, as well as bets of certain punters who you choose to follow – think Instagram, but for betting.

Down the bottom, you’ve got a few other tabs, with ‘Betting’ sitting right in the middle. Click on this and you’ll be taken to the betting part of the app, which is then laid out relatively similarly to other betting apps, allowing you to toggle between sports and racing to find the various markets available with Dabble.

Another unique part of the app is the tab at the bottom which says ‘Banter’. This is where the whole social thing they’re so keen on is taken further, with punters able to talk to each other directly on the app.

Users of the app love it, too. Most Dabble betting app reviews are wildly positive, with the app boasting a massive 4.8-star rating on the App Store at the time of writing – as good a number as you will find in the betting industry.

Dabble prides itself on being a betting site with a really unique offering, and that’s plain to see through the app. The betting is still clearly the reason everyone is there, but with the social aspects combined, this app seems like a combination of various social media platforms and a betting app – and I mean that in a good way.

Dabble Products and Features

Dabble has plenty of unique features, but given that we don’t want this Dabble betting review to go on forever, we’ve narrowed it down to the most notable couple of them for this section.

user-experience

Follow other punters

‘Following’ other people might be a term typically reserved for platforms like Instagram, but Dabble has introduced it to the betting world. You don’t have to engage in this if you’d prefer to just do your own thing, but a really unique element of Dabble is that you can follow other punters and see the bets that they place.

This can be really beneficial for a couple of reasons; you might be really confident in one particular person’s knowledge, you might notice a trend among those you follow that leads you down a certain path, or you might just notice that a mate has put on a bet and want to follow it so you can banter during the match.

live-streaming

Watch exclusive Dabble content and Sky Racing

Dabble not only doubles as both a social media site and a betting platform, they’re also well on their way to being a TV channel of their own. Maybe not quite, but they release a host of self-produced content, with shows like House Party (involving former AFL stars Dane Swan and Heath Shaw), Jake’s Take with Jake Barker-Daish, Greyhound Happy Hour and Saturday Racing offering insights across various events, including AFL tips, NRL tips and horse racing tips.

These shows are pretty high-quality, offering some valuable insights into upcoming events as well as plenty of laughs. Double that up with the aforementioned access to Sky Racing, and you’ve got a raft of content available to tune into direct on the Dabble betting app.

Dabble Betting Markets

features

Already we’ve talked plenty about the unique social features that Dabble boasts, but at the end of the day they are a betting site first and foremost. So how do they fare on one of the most important aspects of any bookmaker; their range of markets? The short answer is – pretty good!

At the time of writing this Dabble betting review, there are an impressive 23 different ‘sports’ available to bet on. The reason for the quote-marks is that included among those sports, alongside the likes of Australian rules football, basketball and tennis betting markets, are things like novelties and entertainment, as well as politics.

And for those sports that they do offer, there is an abundance of selection for punters. You’ll find hundreds of different markets for every game in major sports leagues, with a really good selection of player props complementing the markets that you’ll find everywhere, such as head-to-head and line bets.

When it comes to racing, there isn’t all that much to say. There’s very little variance in the racing markets on offer across different betting sites – it’s really just the odds that make the difference, an area in which we mentioned earlier in this Dabble review, this bookie excels.

Dabble Odds and Margins

boosted-odds

Already we’ve talked about the excellent racing odds available on the Dabble online betting site, so how do they fare across the rest of the site? As always, there is some variability across the app – most bookmakers don’t have either fantastic or terrible odds for every single market – but as a rule, Dabble once again excels in their sports betting odds.

Take their line odds as an example. The absolute best line odds that you’ll get with any Australian betting site is around $1.91, and that’s right where Dabble generally sits for major sports. The value for money you get on standard bets like these is just about as good as you’ll find with Dabble. This extends to less common markets like player props, too.

Overall, Dabble has some of the absolute best odds in the business, and in a really wide range of areas too. Their odds for sports betting are elite across the board, and the same can be said about their racing odds.

Dabble Promotions and Bonuses

bonusesOne of the first things that you’ll see when you open the Dabble betting app for the first sign is a big screen telling you that Dabble offers a unique range of promotions. So do they live up to that promise? Fortunately, they do.

Though there are Dabble betting promo codes available, as always we cannot share the exact nature of the Dabble betting bonuses and promotions for legal reasons. In any case, they are constantly changing so by the time you’ve finished reading this Dabble betting review, there might be a new selection on offer. Only signed up and logged in customers can see what they have to offer in this regard, but it’s safe to say that their promise of unique promos is fulfilled.

How to Sign Up at Dabble

Signing up is never particularly difficult on any betting site, and Dabble is no exception. They do take the verification aspect slightly further, requiring you to verify your phone number before the sign-in process is complete, in contrast to most betting sites which let you sign up before you actually verify anything. Still, it only takes a minute or so to get it all done, and these are the simple steps you have to follow.

  1. Download the Dabble online betting app on your iOS or Android device
  2. Open it up, scroll through the intro messages and choose to create an account.
  3. You’ll be asked to fill in some basic details, like your name, date of birth and address, as well as a username and password.
  4. You’ll then need to enter your mobile phone – make sure you’ve got it on hand, because they will subsequently send a code to verify your number, which you need to do there and then.
  5. Once you’ve done this, you can choose to set a deposit limit (or not), fill in a couple of other basic details, and away you go.

Dabble Banking

payment-methods

Like many betting sites, Dabble started out offering just the basic payment methods. Debit/credit card is quick, easy and found on every bookmaker, and it’s what Dabble first offered – and what they cite as still the most popular method today.

However, they have continually expanded the choice for their punters, adding BPay, PayID, and more recently ApplePay and GooglePay. Dabble have also outlined their intention to continue to add more payment methods in the future.

Dabble Customer Service

customer-support

Dabble exudes fun, positivity and social interaction, so it would be a little off-brand if they didn’t have a decent customer support platform. And lo and behold, they do.

This innovative bookmaker offers all three of the commonly used contact methods, with a phone number, email address and live chat all available. Live chat is the easiest to find on the app – it’s available through a quick link after you click the ‘tools’ button up the top of the app – while the phone number (1800 322 253) and email address (support@dabble.com.au) take a little more finding.

Importantly, they’re generally pretty helpful when you do reach out, too. I would always tend to use live chat if it’s available, and when I have with Dabble they are always relatively quick to get back to you. You won’t be hanging around on the phone for too long either, and when you do get in contact with them they tend to be pretty helpful.

James is a sports writer, editor and published author from Melbourne, Australia. He has close to a decade of experience in the writing industry, but his love for sports started long before that. The MCG was James’ favourite place in the world growing up (and probably still is), somewhere he would head most weekends to watch his beloved Tigers throughout the colder months, as well as every Boxing Day for the cricket. When he wasn’t watching footy or cricket, it was a safe bet he was either playing them, or watching something else – be it the surfing, the NBA, EPL, NRL or anything else he could find on the family TV. As the publisher of a book titled Sport’s Greatest Statistical Anomalies, it’s no surprise that statistics play a big role in James’ love of sports, and his love of numbers lends itself nicely to punting. Scouring the stats is something James finds a whole lot more fun than most people, so if you’re looking for some in-depth analysis for an upcoming game in all manner of sports, he’s your guy.
