James is a sports writer, editor and published author from Melbourne, Australia. His professional experience in the industry dates back to 2017, but he has been a passionate supporter of a range of sports for as long as he can remember. James’ childhood weekends were spent watching the AFL in the winter and the cricket in the summer, while he has also long been an ardent follower of the NBA, NRL, EPL and surfing to name just a few.
Following the completion of a Masters’ degree in Sports Management, James began to turn his passion into a career in his mid-twenties. Since then he has written for a range of publications on a wide variety of sports, as well as editing close to 100 books – including one written by a former coach of the Perth Wildcats. In late 2022, James published his own book titled Sport’s Greatest Statistical Anomalies, which was essentially an outlet for the multitude of useless stats stored away in the depths of his brain.
With statistics such a major part of what he loves about sports, it’s no surprise that James has also long taken an interest in punting. All those numbers and stats get his brain buzzing in a way that normal people might consider a little funny, but it seems to work for him – at least some of the time!
