AFL 2025 Multi Bet of the Week - Finals Week One

The first week of the AFL finals has arrived, with four huge games kicking off on Thursday night when the Crows host the Magpies. There isn’t a whole lot separating the two teams in any of the four games in terms of betting odds, with a line of 10.5 points in the Dockers vs Suns clash the longest of the weekend, meaning there is plenty of potential for upsets and a lot of differing views on how each game will play out. Rather than focusing on winners and losers, however, we’ll kick off our AFL multi bet with a points total and then a player prop, before honing in on what could be the least close game of a very tight weekend. Check out all three AFL multi tips for the weekend below.

4th of September, 7.40pm AEST, Adelaide Oval

The first game of the finals series promises to be a belter, with the 1st placed Crows hosting the team that seemed destined to finish there until just a few short weeks ago. When these sides met, also at Adelaide Oval, less than a month ago, the Crows won by three points but the Magpies dominated that game in many respects, and the visitors look like great value as a result – but we’ll instead focus on the points total. Invariably finals games are highly contested and this will be no exception, with a high-pressure game likely to make goals hard to come by. That was the case last time they met anyway, with just 115 points scored, but that’s been a trend for the Pies in particular of late – they haven’t passed the line set for this game by betting sites of 160.5 in any of their last seven games. The Crows are a lethal offensive team, but the Magpies’ are a well-drilled team that will force them to kick long down the line often and nullify that scoring potential. This one could easily go way below the points total, and looks like a great first AFL multi tip for the weekend..

6th of September, 3.15pm AEST, ENGIE Stadium

At the ripe old age of 33, Jack Gunston has had one of the best seasons of his career, booting 62 goals in his 20 games and deservedly earning an All-Australian blazer for his efforts. He comes into the finals series in scintillating form, having booted 34 snags in his past nine games at an average of nearly four per game, and while he’s had a couple of bags of 7 in there, it’s the consistency with which he’s hit the scoreboard which has been most impressive. Gunston has kicked at least 3 goals in all but two of those games, and while they will invariably be harder to come by in September, this should be a fairly free-flowing game and at better than even money odds with Bet365 to hit the 3-goal mark again, he looks like great value – particularly given he’s well under $2 with other betting apps.

Fremantle Dockers vs Gold Coast Suns

6th September, 7:35 pm AEST, Optus Stadium

Though all four games have the potential to be really close, the likelihood is that at least one of them will be a more comfortable victory for one side than we expect, and for me this is the most likely of them. The Suns fully deserve to finally be in their inaugural finals series, and at their best this season they have been a very dangerous team. But they have a tough task ahead of them making the experience last longer than a week. The Dockers, like virtually every team, could easily have missed the finals, but they are a really strong, professional outfit, and it showed with their season on the line against the Dogs in Round 25. The Suns have minimal finals experience outside their coach, and under the bright lights of September against a really good team in a hostile environment, they might struggle to keep this one within the 11.5-point line.
