Grand Final Day has almost arrived, and with it comes our final AFL multi bet of 2025. Unlike our NRL multi, which has been yielding some serious dividends, we haven’t had quite as much recent luck in the footy, and last week went 0/3 across our three legs. But at the risk of sounding overconfident, I can’t see that happening this weekend. We’ve got one match bet and a couple of player props for our AFL multi tips for Grand Final Day, and with some good, hard evidence behind them, I’m confident in this one going close. Take a look at all three legs and the logic behind them below.

Let’s start off with the game itself, before moving to a couple of player props. The results in the two games between these two sides have been vastly different, each of them having secured a comfortable win over the other in the past couple of months, but I’m backing the Grand Final to settle somewhere in the middle and hopefully deliver a grandstand finish. That brings the small margin results into play. The Lions are an excellent team and clearly more than capable of winning a second consecutive flag, but the Cats are an incredibly well-drilled, professional unit and were very, very good against the Hawks last week. They well and truly deserve to enter this game as favourites, and while I don’t like their odds head to head, betting sites are offering better than even money for them to win by 1-39. To me, that looks like as good a place to kick off our final AFL multi bet for the year as any.

The Lions have had plenty of statistically strong performers over the past few weeks, and up forward Cam Rayner has been one of them. The former number one pick is a consistent scoreboard threat throughout the course of the season, but in particular over the last couple of months. He’s kicked multiple goals in six of the last eight games and, harking back even further, in 13 of his last 20, which makes the $2.05 on offer for him to kick at least 2 goals with Bet365 look very enticing. Rayner has kicked six goals in his three finals this year but could easily have had more, with those goals accompanied by seven behinds, so expect him to get a handful of looks at the big sticks and hopefully bag at least a couple once again.

At the ripe old age of 36 and with over 300 games to his name, Dayne Zorko is the most experienced player on the Lions’ list, and he’s put that experience to good use so far in these finals. After hovering around the 26-possession average throughout the course of the year, he has jumped up significantly in September, averaging just a tick under 30 touches across the Lions’ three finals and picking up at least 26 touches in each of those games. An elite distributor across half-back, Zorko and his teammates want the ball in his hands as much as possible in these high-octane games, and that will likely be the case once again on Saturday. His line is set at 25.5 possessions on most betting apps, a number he has surpassed in six of seven finals over the past two years (the sole exception being when he had 25 touches in last year’s semi), as well as in five of his last six games, so even money looks like great odds for him to do it in the Grand Final.
