AFL 2025 Multi Bet of the Week - Round 22

We went very close to hitting on a big multi last weekend, with only the last leg failing after Aaron Naughton had another huge game and the Crows put up another huge score. We’ve learnt our lesson not to rely on Tigers’ players to kick goals after they managed only two as a collective in their game, with this week’s AFL multi bets instead focusing on Port Adelaide and Western Bulldogs players, before it concludes with what looks like a really strong bet for the Crows to put up a big score on the Eagles.

Port Adelaide Power vs Fremantle Dockers

    Port Adelaide Power
  • AFL Fremantle Dockers
    Fremantle Dockers

9th of August, 8.10pm AEST, Adelaide Oval

Zak Butters has been a little bit erratic in his form of late, but when it comes to punting that can sometimes be a good thing. Over the past six weeks, Butters averages 26.8 disposals per game, which makes the $3.00 on offer for him to pick up 30 look fairly reasonable. But a closer look at those numbers shows that he’s far more likely than those odds would suggest of getting there this week. Included among those last six games are an 18-disposal and a 10-disposal effort; in each of the other four he has hit the 30-mark and averaged more than 33 per game. This could be some really good value to get our multi started.

Melbourne Demons vs Western Bulldogs

  • AFL Western Bulldogs
    Western Bulldogs

10th of August, 3.15pm AEST, MCG

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and Aaron Naughton certainly ain’t broke. We backed him to boot four as one of last week’s AFL multi tips and once again he got there with aplomb, kicking five snags for the fourth time in five weeks. He is playing as well as he ever has and should be able to feast once again on Sunday against a Demons team that the Bulldogs will be hoping to beat relatively easily. Naughton is paying well over $2 with betting sites like Bet365 to kick just four this weekend, and given his electric form, those look like some pretty juicy odds to me.

West Coast Eagles vs Adelaide Crows

  • AFL West Coast Eagles
    West Coast Eagles
  • AFL Adelaide Crows
    Adelaide Crows

10th of August, 7.10pm AEST, Optus Stadium

This game is a recipe for disaster for the Eagles, and though the bookies are banking on a big win for the Crows, even their expectations may not be dire enough for the home team. But in a way, we’re focusing on a positive here – at least for the Crows. They are the third highest scoring team in the competition and have hit triple figures in each of their last four games, often against some pretty decent opposition. Their points over/under for this game is not all that far past that at 116.5, and that looks like the kind of number the Crows might get to in three quarters. West Coast conceded 139 points to Melbourne last weekend and 126 to the Dockers before that, while even the Tigers managed 105 three weeks ago. The Crows could be looking at closer to 150 here, and the over 116.5 looks like an excellent AFL multi tip to round out the weekend.
