AFL 2025 Multi Bet of the Week - Semi-Finals

We weren’t far off hitting on our first AFL multi bet of the finals last weekend. The Crows vs Magpies game went comfortably under the points total as predicted, before Jack Gunston continued his sparkling form with 3 goals. Unfortunately the Dockers couldn’t hang onto their lead against the Suns and squandered not just their own ambitions, but also our multi. Semi-final weekend will see just two games played, meaning a couple of this week’s AFL multi tips will be from the same game – all that means you need to do is set up a same game multi for the two legs from the same game, and add both that and the third bet from the other game to your betslip, and most betting sites should allow you to combine all three legs.

12th of September, 7.40pm AEST, Adelaide Oval

As we did last weekend, we’ll start off with an unders bet in Adelaide Oval, with the logic being much the same is what for the Crows vs Magpies game. While the Crows have been a high-scoring team all year, they’re not exactly a team that always looks to take risks and play at a breakneck speed in the vein of, for example, the Bulldogs. In the high-pressure environment of finals, the occasions on which they do play like that are limited even further, with slower, more deliberate ball movement and a lot of long kicks down the line far more common. The line that the betting apps have set for this game is reasonably high at 165.5, but this game will more likely resemble what we saw last week when Adelaide played Collingwood, and particularly on what will likely be a dewy Adelaide Oval this game should come well under the points total.

Lachie Neale will be a notable absentee for the Lions this weekend after injuring his calf in last week’s loss to the Cats, and with him out of the midfield line-up it will open the door for more time on-ball for a couple of players. With him playing, the Lions essentially rotate through he, Will Ashcroft, Hugh McCluggage and Josh Dunkley as their three centre bounce midfielders, so it’s no surprise that when Neale has been out in recent weeks, those three have enjoyed more time in the guts – and got more footy as a result. Josh Dunkley is the one recipient of that extra midfield time who I’ve got my eye on. Not only will he be getting more opportunity to win the footy, but he’s also a player who is custom-made for finals footy, and is in great form anyway having picked up 30 or more touches in four of his last five games. Despite that, betting sites like PlayUp are offering better than $3 for him to hit that mark again – value which is too good to refuse.

Bailey Humphrey took to finals like a duck to water last weekend, kicking three goals in his debut finals game to help his Suns to a one-point win. Important as he was in that game, however, it wasn’t as though the performance came out of nowhere. He’s had a really exciting year and has been particularly good in recent weeks, and last week’s Elimination Finals marked the third time in five weeks that he’s kicked three goals. It was also the sixth time in his last ten games that he’s booted multiple majors. This weekend’s semi-final will be a tough matchup for the Suns, but Humphrey is one man that coach Damian Hardwick can be confident will rise to the occasion. At around even money to boot multiple goals – which he has been doing more often than not for more than two months now – this looks like a good way to round out our AFL multi bet for the weekend.
