EPL 2025/26 Preview & Betting Tips: Matchday 9

EPL 2025/26 Matchweek 9
The fast-paced nature of the Premier League waits for nobody and with Liverpool setting the standard just a couple of weeks ago, the reds now find themselves in the midst of a 3-game losing streak.
Arsenal are the key beneficiaries, with the Gunners sitting pretty at the top of the table and Mikel Arteta looks to have compiled a team that is capable of challenging on a few fronts this term.
With the promoted trio of Leeds United, Sunderland and Burnley all going well, the bottom three consists of West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Wolves - three sides with work to do to preserve their Premier League status.

Leeds United vs West Ham United
- Leeds United

- West Ham United

Elland Road, 25th October, 04:00
It feels like a huge period of the season for both Leeds United and West Ham, who will lock horns in a Friday night bumper fixture at Elland Road. Leeds have started the season pretty well but their 2-0 loss to Burnley last weekend will be a cause of some concern. The sharks are circling for West Ham currently, who were limp in their 2-0 loss at home to Brentford and new manager Nuno Espirito Santo clearly has a job on his hands.
This should be a good one and both sides may end up settling for a draw.
Predicted Lineups:
Leeds United: Perri, Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson, Stach, Tanaka, Longstaff, Calvert-Lewin, James & Okafor.
West Ham United: Areola, Walker-Peters, Todibo, Kilman, Diouf, Fernandes, Potts, Irving, Bowen, Paqueta & Fullkrug.
Chelsea vs Sunderland
- Chelsea

- Sunderland

Stamford Bridge, 25th October, 23:00
Chelsea are starting to tick again under Enzo Maresca and they will be eager to keep momentum going against Sunderland here. The blues endured a bit of a wobble prior to the international break but wins over Liverpool and Nottingham Forest have boosted the mood in West London. Sunderland meanwhile are in fantastic form, loving life in the Premier League and making it very tough for every opponent they come across.
Home form does feel more important than away form for Sunderland though and Chelsea should find a way past them here.
| Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
| Chelsea to win the match | $1.44 | |
| Joao Pedro to score (anytime) | $2.00 | |
| Over 2.5 goals in the match | $1.95 |

Sunderland: Roefs, Hume, Ballard, Alderete, Mandava, Sadiki, Xhaka, Diarra, Talbi, Le Fee & Isidor.
Newcastle United vs Fulham
- Newcastle United

- Fulham

St James's Park, 25th October, 23:00
Following another big win in the Champions League in midweek, Newcastle will be looking to get their Premier League campaign going, as they take on Fulham. Inconsistency has been the key issue for Eddie Howe's men so far this term and that has been reflected in the results they have produced. Fulham meanwhile showed up pretty well against Arsenal last time out but came up short and they will want to respond in this one.
St James's Park should be rocking here though and a home win looks to be on the cards for Toon.
Predicted Lineups:
Newcastle United: Pope, Schar, Botman, Burn, Hall, Tonali, Ramsey, Guimaraes, Murphy, Gordon & Woltemade.
Fulham: Leno, Castagne, Cuenca, Andersen, Sessengnon, Lukic, Berge, Wilson, Iwobi,.Kevin & Raul.
Manchester United vs Brighton
- Manchester United

- Brighton

Old Trafford, 26th October, 01:30
Having registered back to back wins under Ruben Amorim for the very first time in the Premier League, there is a sense of momentum building at Manchester United. After beating Liverpool last weekend, the Red Devils take on Brighton next - with Old Trafford expectant. Brighton remain one of the most enigmatic sides in the division and their superb win over Newcastle last time out demonstrates their potential.
This should be a very good game, with all three results in play but United could have enough momentum to get over the line.
| Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
| Benjamin Sesko to score (anytime) | $2.80 | |
| BTTS | $1.70 | |
| Manchester United to win the match | $2.10 |
Predicted Lineups:
Manchester United: Lammens, Dalot, De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw, Diallo, Casemiro, Fernandes, Mbuemo, Cunha & Sesko.
Brighton: Verbruggen, Veltman, Dunk, Van Hecke, Wieffer, Ayari, Baleba, Gomez, Mitoma, Welbeck & Rutter.
Brentford vs Liverpool
- Brentford

- Liverpool

Gtech Stadium, 26th October, 04:00
Having overcome West Ham last time out, Brentford will be looking to keep the results coming, as they take on champions Liverpool next. Not much was expected of the Bees under Keith Andrews this term but they have produced some excellent showings so far this season. Plenty of sharks are out to attack Liverpool at the moment but Arne Slot will be hoping to see his side click back into gear in West London in this one. Brentford will take the game to Liverpool and could trouble them but the reds should pick up a much needed three points here.
Predicted Lineups:
Brentford: Kelleher, Kayode, Collins, Ajer, Van Den Berg, Henderson, Jensen, Damsgaard, Yarmolyuk, Schade & Thiago.
Liverpool:Â Mamardsashvili, Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szaboszlai, Salah, Ekitike & Isak.
Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest
- Bournemouth

- Nottingham Forest

Vitality Stadium, 26th October, 22:00
High flying Bournemouth will be looking to keep the momentum going here, as they take on Nottingham Forest down on the south coast. The Cherries are a side full of exciting talents and a place in the European football picture feels attainable next season. Nottingham Forest meanwhile are in crisis and have turned to Sean Dyche to steady the ship - their third manager of the season already.
Forest should be raring to go here and they could dig in for their new manager but Bournemouth are playing well and they should prevail at home.
| Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
| BTTS | $1.75 | |
| Bournemouth to win the match | $1.70 | |
| Antoine Semenyo to score or assist (anytime) | $2.00 |
Predicted Lineups:
Bournemouth: Petrovic, Diakite, Truffert, Senesi, Smith, Adams, Scott, Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo & Kroupi Jr.
Nottingham Forest: Sels, Williams, Murillo, Milenkovic, Zinchenko, Yates, Luiz, McAtee, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi & Wood.
Arsenal vs Crystal Palace
- Arsenal

- Crystal Palace

Emirates Stadium, 26th October, 22:00
Table topping Arsenal look to be the side to beat in the Premier League this season and they take on high flying Crystal Palace next. The Gunners spent big in the summer once again and their expensively assembled squad now looks ready to secure their first EPL title in over two decades. FA Cup winners Crystal Palace meanwhile are going along very nicely under Oliver Glasner and they pride themselves on being able to trouble the big boys.
This one will be much closer than the odds suggest but Arsenal should manage to land another important win here.
Predicted Lineups:
Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Rice, Zubimendi, Saka, Trossard, Merino & Gyokeres.
Crystal Palace: Henderson, Munoz, Guehi, Richards, Lacroix, Mitchell, Wharton, Kamada, Hughes, Sarr & Mateta.
Wolves vs Burnley
- Wolves

- Burnley

Molyneux, 26th October, 22:00
Two sides who are looking to lodge survival bids in the Premier League this term meet here, as Wolves host Burnley. A first EPL win of the campaign remains elusive for Wolves and they will be desperate to finally break their duck for the season here. Burnley meanwhile should be full of confidence after overcoming Leeds United last weekend but their away form has been poor so far this term.
This one feels huge for Wolves and they could rouse a decent enough performance to overcome Burnley here.Â
Predicted Lineups:
Wolves: Johnstone, Doherty, Agbadou, Bueno, Mosquera, Wolfe, Andre, Gomes, Arias, Munetsi & Strand Larsen.
Burnley:Â Dubravka, Walker, Esteve, Ekdal, Hartman, Cullen, Anthony, Ugochukwu, Florentino, Laurent & Foster.
Aston Villa vs Manchester City
- Aston Villa

- Manchester City

Villa Park, 26th October, 23:00
Two in-form sides meet here, as Aston Villa host Manchester City at Villa Park. Early season form had many people worried for Villa but they look to have found their feet again this term and their 2-1 win at Tottenham last time out was a real statement. Similarly, City started the campaign inconsistently but have hit some decent form in recent weeks, in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
With both of these sides in form, this one could be very entertaining and both sides may end up settling for a draw.
Predicted Lineups:
Aston Villa: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne, Onana, Tielemans, Kamara, McGinn, Buendia & Watkins.
Manchester City:Â Donnarumma, Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Reilly, Kovacic, Bernardo, Foden, Reijnders, Savinho & Haaland.
Everton vs Tottenham
- Everton

- Tottenham

Hill Dickenson Stadium, 27th October, 00:30
Everton will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Manchester City, as they host Tottenham at the Hill Dickenson Stadium. The Toffees are yet to taste defeat at their new home and they should be bang up for this one from the outset. Tottenham meanwhile have been going pretty well under Thomas Frank but their loss to Aston Villa last time out may have knocked their confidence a touch.
This one feels very tough to call on paper and both sides may end up settling for a draw and moving onto the next one.
Predicted Lineups:
Everton: Pickford, O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko, Garner, Gueye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish, Ndiaye & Barry.
Tottenham: Vicario, Porro, Spence, Van der Ven, Romero, Bentancur, Paulinha, Sarr, Simons, Johnson & Richarlison.
