City Ground, 17th August, 21.00

For the majority of last season, Nottingham Forest found themselves very much in contention for a Champions League place, only to fall short in the final few weeks of the campaign.

Much of their good form was built on their strong performances at home and they open up the 2025/26 campaign against Brentford.

The Bees have Keith Andrews in charge and the Irishman will be thust into the limelight in this one, against a wily manager in Nuno Espirito Santo.

Brentford are a side in flux and in front of an expectant crowd, Nottingham Forest should deliver all three points in their opener at the City Ground.

Sunderland vs West Ham United

Stadium of Light, 16th August, 23.00

Promotion last season from the Championship was a huge coup for Sunderland and they should be relishing their shot back in the Premier League big time here.

First up is a meeting with West Ham United and while the Stadium of Light will be ready to create a cauldron, the Hammers have snuck under the radar this summer.

While many of the sides around them in the table have lost key players, West Ham have managed to hang on to theirs and in Graham Potter, they have a manager that wants to take them to the next level.

Away wins came at a premium for the Irons in the 2024/25 campaign but they could get off to a winning start on the road this time around.

Manchester United vs Arsenal

Old Trafford, 18th August, 00.30

Two Premier League behemoths meet here, as Manchester United host Arsenal in a moth watering season opener.

United have spent over £200 million in a new forward line this summer and they will be looking for Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha to hit the ground running.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's much discussed striking problems look to be a thing of the past now that Viktor Gyokeres has joined the club and goals are very much on the agenda for the Swede in North London.

If last season is anything to go by, then Arsenal should run out comfortable winners at Old Trafford but Ruben Amorim gets his side up for the arrival of big teams and this could be an intriguing draw in Salford.
