Parramatta Eels Betting Tips, Odds & Best Bets

The Eels might not be at the peak of their powers and remain stuck in the grips of a long, long Premiership drought, but despite that they remain one of the most well-supported clubs in the NRL. In terms of league relevance, they have been trumped in the Western suburbs of Sydney in recent years by the Panthers, who are in the midst of a run resembling that of the Eels themselves in the 1980s, but the Eels are a proud club with ambitions of working their way back up the ladder as quickly as possible.

History of the Parramatta Eels

The Eels have an interesting history. Having been formed back in 1946, they’ve competed at the top level for nearly 80 years, and have won a respectable four Premierships in that time. Those Premierships, however, were very much contained to one era. The Eels were a dominant force in the 1980s, winning their inaugural flag in 1981 before saluting again in each of the next two years, and again in 1986. But since then, success has dried up. They had a couple of somewhat random Grand Final appearances in 2009 and 2022 but were unable to get the job done, and have found themselves back in the doldrums over the past couple of years.
