Here are my best picks for Saturday's racing action at Randwick. I have Sabaj to dominate in Race 8. I also think that Mr Brightside in Race 8 and Kerguelen in Race 10 can get the job done.

Was right in the mix last time out, finishing a strong second. On 26/04/2025, Sabaj lined up at Morphettville, finishing 2nd over 1200m.

Biggest Threat (Danger): Lord Penman

Finished beyond the top four but wasn’t beaten far, indicating some potential. Lord Penman ran at Randwick on 04/10/2025, finishing 7th in a 1600m event.

Value Play: Raikkonen

Came in beyond the top four last start, but still showing signs of promise. Last time out, Raikkonen competed over 1200m, placing 9th at Randwick. Despite no wins yet at Randwick, Raikkonen has had some solid performances here.

Claimed victory in the previous race. Mr Brightside has shown it can get the job done at Randwick, so don’t count it out. Competitive at this track, placing in 4 of 4 starts, with 2 wins.

Biggest Threat (Danger): Fangirl

An impressive last-start victory signals this runner is in top form. Fangirl raced recently, placing 1st in a 1600m event at Randwick. Performed well here, winning 9 times from 22 starts.

Value Play: Pride Of Jenni

Scored a strong victory last race. Last start performance, Pride Of Jenni came 1st over 1600m at Moonee Valley. Not the strongest Randwick track form but has won here before.

A result outside the top four last race, but there’s room for progress. On 04/10/2025, Kerguelen lined up at Randwick, finishing 5th over 1200m. Has tasted success on this Randwick track but needs to find more.

Biggest Threat (Danger): Rock Empire

Outstanding performance in its last start. Rock Empire competed at Randwick-Kensington over 1400m, finishing 1st. Hasn’t won at Randwick yet, but might be ready to change that.

Value Play: Lord Of Biscay

Last race didn’t result in a top-four finish, but signs of progress were evident. Last outing, Lord Of Biscay took on a 1400m race at Rosehill and finished 6th. No wins at Randwick yet, but this could be the day Lord Of Biscay turns things around.

James McDonald is back at the Randwick track, one of his favourites. Look out for Fangirl in Race 9.
