Quick Analysis:

While Banknote Hustler is the $1.50 favourite at the moment, I’m going with Cuban Cigar. I think he presents a little bit more value, especially as an each-way play. The gelding has trialled fairly well, with a second and a first under his belt. Now, he is looking to translate that form into his first career race. Booking jockey Jay Ford is another plus.

For Race 4 at Sandown, I’m going with the $3.00 favourite, The Cunning Fox. The gelding has had success at Sandown previously, winning back on June 1, and last time out, he finished third at the same track. His odds have been fairly stable since the markets opened, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see the money come his way.

Quick Analysis:

Heading to Gawler now, and the favourite is currently Koratora. It’s easy to see why, as the mare won her last start here at the same track, over 1,200m. That was on a Soft-rated track, and we’re looking at a Heavy-rated track for this one. She has to carry the top weight, but maps well and should dictate how the race plays out.
