This 5YO has only competed in two career races, but he has managed to win both of them, and he comes into this one as the favourite once again. His win last time out was particularly impressive, and that was in a BM64. He goes into a BM62 for this one and gets a favourable draw. Xtra Rush should make it three from three here.

Next up, I’ll be having an each-way play on Gallant Prince, also at Mornington. The gelding tackles this one third-up and should be fitter for those two runs under his belt. Last time out, he finished third in a BM64, 2L off the leader. Jockey Daniel Stackhouse, who has been on Gallant Prince for his last two runs, saddles up again.

Heading to the Sunshine Coast now and in Race 4, I like the look of Motorbike, who presents a little bit of value in my eyes, despite being the favourite. He is a last-start winner at Ipswich, breaking his maiden after three attempts. That win came on a Soft-rated track, and it looks like more of the same today. Jockey Jag Guthmann-Chester retains the ride.
