We haven’t seen this mare since October last year, but she has had two recent trials, both of which she won. So, I’m not concerned about her fitness level coming into this clash. The 4YO had a crack at the Group Two Roman Consul Stakes last time out, but she finished last, less than 5L off the pace, though. Small field and draws barrier two.

Before we get to the Moir Stakes, we have the So You Think Stakes, and Moira looks like a great each-way play in a fairly open field. Last time out, she ran well in the P.B. Lawrence Stakes, finishing fourth. That was her first-up run after a long spell. She should be fitter for that run under her belt, but will need a little luck from the wide barrier.

Another week, another Group One, and it’s a fairly open affair according to the bookies. I’ve found another each-way play that I think will payout in the form of Niance. With a career record of 11: 7-1-0, the mare is flying. She hasn’t raced since late May, but this is only 1,000m and she’s had two trials since then. She’s good enough to win this.
