With the current favourite, Divakara, going around with odds of $2.40, I’ll be going for the value play with Sian Star, who is paying $3.30 just to run in the top three. The gelding gets weight relief, thanks to apprentice jockey Corey Sutherland. He finished third in a BM65 at Ipswich, which is the same class he races in again this time out, and I’m confident he can replicate that performance.

In the last today at Armidale, I’m sticking with the favourite, Four Degrees, but there are a few live chances in this one. We haven’t seen the gelding since June, when he notched up back-to-back wins. He is tackling this one first up, and after a recent trial, I’m expecting him to kick things off with a bang. He draws wide, but as a typical backmarker, that shouldn’t be too much of an influence.
