Hot Bandit comes into this one as the narrow favourite, but there is plenty of quality in this one, and six runners are currently going around with single-digit odds. The gelding comes into this one second-up, and while he didn’t do too much last time out, he’ll strip fitter for that run under his belt. He has an excellent second-up record: 4:3-0-0.

Heading to Cranbourne now, and I think Coco Jen looks like the one to beat in Race 5. The mare kicked off this prep with a second placing at Sandown Hillside by 0.75L. She was a $10 chance in that one, and now drops down from a BM70 to a BM66. The rise in trip looks suitable, and at $3.00, there is still a smidge of value around her in my eyes.

In the Pinker Pinker Plate, I’m siding with Brave Miss, who is currently on the second line of betting, and is at borderline each-way odds. She followed up a win with back-to-back third placings at Sandown Lakeside and Flemington. While the distance could be an issue, she is fit, and she can stay out of trouble after drawing wide.
