The money has been coming thick and fast for Ellyette, who opened up around the $13 mark. We are now getting $7.50 for her to win. I do think she has what it takes to break her maiden here, but I’ll be playing it safe, taking her to place. Last time out, she placed at this track, and she has been pretty consistent. She should go well on a softer track.

Roman Forum is a bit unloved in the market at the moment, but I think she is worth a chance at the odds, especially as a place bet. She jumps wide-ish, but will carry among the lowest weights, so she has that working in her favour. She is also already a winner at this track/ trip. Tackles this one second-up, and she’ll be fitter for that run under her belt.

Completing my trifecta of place bets for today is Eagle Warrior, who is currently going around with place odds of $2.30. He has been fairly steady in the market, but one of the things I like the most is that Samantha Pointon retained the ride. The pair have a great record of 3:2-1-0 together. Tough race last time out with just four runners, he can redeem himself.
