There are a few live chances in this one, but my money’s on White Hot Mama, who is the narrowest of favourites at the time of writing. This will be just her second start, and she’ll be all the better for that run under her belt. The first time out, she ended up working in the race well enough, but the speed didn’t really suit her. Things look more in her favour today.

He’s My Warrior didn’t do much last time out, but I don’t think that was a suitable race; he finds a better one here, and draws barrier three as well, so that’s a plus. Three runs back, he won at Scone, so base your decisions on that one. The gelding is borderline each-way odds, but I think he is good enough to win this, so I’ll be taking him outright.

There’s been a little bit of money coming in for Ivy Diva, after opening around the $5.50 mark. She hasn’t really done much as of late, but gets in fairly well at the weights, and looking further back, she has had success throughout her two previous campaigns. She gets Aaron Bullock in the saddle as well, which is a big tick, so take her at the each-way odds.
