After back-to-back second placings, I think Lock Awe is ready to clock in his second career win in 13 attempts. He is on the seven-day back-up and has managed five placings so far this prep (out of eight runs). He’s a horse that has a lot of potential in my eyes, so I’m expecting a win and for him to go on to bigger things.

It’s hard to go against the favourite here in Hidden Motive. Apprentice jockey, Braith Nock, steps into the saddle, helping Hidden Motive with weight relief. We haven’t seen the colt since June, when he wrapped up his prep with back-to-back victories. Hidden Motive has competed (and performed well) in tougher races in the past.

Heading to Bendigo now, and while there are a few live chances in this one, I do like the look of Kokako, who had a pretty impressive jump out recently. The cherry on top of the cake is that she draws barrier one. We haven’t seen the mare since March, when she went down by 0.02L in a BM58. At $3.60, I reckon she’s got some value about her.
