For the Group Three Geelong Cup, I’m siding with Onesmoothoperator, who presents decent enough each-way value. He hasn’t exactly done a lot recently, but he has been competing against some stiff competition in high-class races. The 8YO won the race last year, and the quality of this year’s edition looks about the same level.

The gelding has a career record of 8:2-1-3, and I think he is ready to right the wrongs of finishing third as the favourite last time out at Doomben.

Heading to Warwick Farm now, and I’ll be on Captain Maverick in Race 5. It’s a field of just eight for this one, and Captain Maverick is the favourite, but there’s still a smidge of value. The gelding finished second at this track last time out, and drops back just 90m for this one. Gets the services of Nash Rawiller, which is a big tick.
