Bestower is the best horse in the race in terms of form, in my opinion, and the market reflects that, placing the mare as the favourite. She could have gone to a BM72 on Wednesday, but instead, she lines up here in country company, which is a much easier race. Last time out, she finished a respectable fourth in a BM72 at Warwick Farm; she should be winning this.

For the Group Two Moonee Valley Gold Cup, I’ll be on Onesmoothoperator. While Gilded Water seems to be the deserved favourite, I think there’s much more value around Onesmoothoperator, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him win this one. His results on paper haven’t been that crash hot, but he has been tackling difficult races. Keen to see how he goes.

For the last at the Sunshine Coast, I’m taking a chance on Pride Of Savabella, who is going around at value odds. I’ll be playing it safe, though, taking the gelding to finish top-three. The gelding finished strongly last time out at Rockhampton. While he gets no favours with the wide draw, he has placed previously at this track. He can surprise a few.
