She hit the line nicely last time out at the same track, finishing just 0.38L off the leader, in third place. She seems okay with the Heavy conditions, and will settle back from the wide draw and should be steaming down the outside.

I like the look of this Ron Quinton-trained filly, Quein Step, in Race 5 today at Newcastle. She has an impressive career record of 4: 1-2-1 so far, with all four outings coming at Goulburn. Most of her runs have also been in Soft conditions, so I think she’ll handle the Heavy well. Expecting another solid performance today.

Heading to Ballarat Synthetic now, and I think Wallenberg looks like the most likely winner. The 4YO has been steadily improving with each run so far in his career, and last time out, he finished third, albeit 3L off the lead. The move to a synthetic surface is a good one, so watch for him from barrier three.
