It’s a fairly open market for Race 4 at Kempsey, but I’m sticking with the favourite, Justice Please, who still presents decent value. She has been building nicely in her prep so far and finished second and first in her last two races. Draws wide, but does have the speed to overcome that.

Another fairly open affair, and I think the way to go is with Got The Smarts. The mare kicked her prep off last time out, where she finished third at Grafton, 2.51L off the leader. She’ll need to overcome the wide barrier as well, but if she gets the right breaks at the right time, she’ll be too good.

There’s a lot of live chances in this one, and I’m playing it safe with a place bet on Tahlequah. She tackles this one second up after finishing eighth at Pakenham Synthetic two weeks ago and has a decent second-up record of 3:1-0-1. Draws wide, but has some good closing speed, so if the breaks come, she should take advantage.
