Margot's Deel looks to be one of the more in-form runners in this one at Doomben. She has one win and one second placing so far, with both coming here at Doomben. She missed by 0.7L last time out when going around as the favourite, and I think she can atone here, especially with Cejay Graham retaining the ride.

It’s the all-important Bendigo Cup, which usually provides a reliable form guide for the Melbourne Cup. I’m side-stepping the favourite here as I think Sayedaty Sadaty presents more value at his odds. Didn’t do much last time out, but does drop 3kg for this one, and barrier three is much better. If he finds cover, he’ll be hard to hold out down the straight.

For the last at Rosehill, I’m sticking with the favourite. Mamushka comes from the John O'Shea and Tom Charlton barn, which is on fire at the moment. She is in some form right now as well, boasting three placings in a row. A kind barrier draw will give her some options, and I think she’ll give them all a sight down the finishing straight.
