Eagle Farm, Race 5 - 5. Razors

Razors draws the carpark, but did win last time out here at Eagle Farm. It was only a narrow win when he was the $1.50 favourite, but it was a race that was never in doubt. Steps up to 1,600m from 1,400m here, which shouldn’t be any issue for the 5YO.

Has a decent enough Soft-track record, of 9: 1-3-1, and he goes around the even money favourite in this one. PlayUp is currently offering $1.95 for the gelding to take the victory. Jockey Ben Thompson, who was on board for the victory last time out, retains the ride.

Randwick, Race 6 - 1. Within The Law

We haven’t seen Within The Law since April when the filly came a narrow 0.13L second in the Group One Champagne Stakes at Randwick. She’s back again at Randwick and looks to have the class factor in the Group Two Silver Shadow Stakes today.

She should eat up the 1,200m that’s on offer, and should run them all down in the closing stages. Not 100% on how she’ll go on what will be a Heavy-rated track, so let’s just take her for the place to be on the safer side of things. Bet  Right is offering $1.60 for the 3YO to place in the Silver Shadow Stakes.

Moonee Valley, Race 5 - 1. Aleppo Pine

For my final leg, we head to Moonee Valley and Aleppo Pine looks well suited in the Mick Gleeson Plate. The colt tackles this one first-up, where he has a record of 2: 1-0-0. Last time out, he finished second by 1L at Caulfield in the Listed Redoute's Choice Stakes.

He did perform well in a recent jump out, and the 1,200m that’s on offer today looks ideal. Recently changed from the James Cummings barn to Ben, Will & JD Hayes, but we will have to wait to see how that change impacts things. PlayUp is offering $1.60 for Aleppo Pine to place.
