Multi Bet Tip

Another Saturday of Group One racing as the Spring Racing Carnival ramps up. My three-leg multi comes across multiple race cards and includes some of my most confident plays of the day.

LegsOdds
8. Whisky On The Hill (Caulfield, Race 1)$2.90 (Place)
4. Captain Furai (Rosehill, Race 4)$1.60 (Place)
2. Arkansaw Kid (Caulfield, Race 7)$2.05 (Place)
Total Odds: $9.51
Bet $10 for a $95.10 Payout with PlayUp

win

Caulfield, Race 1 - 8. Whisky On The Hill

Hoping to kick off this multi early at Caulfield in Race 1. Whisky On The Hill looks to be a solid place chance and is a multiple winner here at Caulfield. First up, he finished middle of the pack, and now he drops back down to a BM74. He’ll be fitter for that run under his belt, and the rise in trip looks suitable as well.

Jockey Blake Shinn steps into the saddle, and jumping from barrier eight, they will have some options, probably settling mid-field, waiting for the right gaps to open in the closing stages. Right now, you can pick up Whiskey On The Hill for odds of $2.90 to run top three with PlayUp.

win

Rosehill, Race 4 - 4. Captain Furai

After finishing second by 1.81L in Rosehill, Captain Furai was unlucky last time out, also at Rosehill. He was the favourite in that one, and I think he’ll be able to atone here. You’re getting better odds for him this time out, but just to play it safe in this multi, take him for the place, currently at $1.70 with Bet Right.

The track is already in the Soft range, and with some rain around, there’s a chance it could go into the Heavy range. Captain Furai’s Heavy-rated record currently sits at 5:2-2-0. James McDonald sticks with him once again, and they get a better draw this time out. He’s the one to be on.

win

Caulfield, Race 7 - 2. Arkansaw Kid

It looks to be a fairly open edition of The Heath, but I do like the look of Arkansaw Kid, who is good enough to overcome the wide barrier. I liked what he did in the Regal Roller Stakes at the same track, and he’s another one that will enjoy it more if there’s rain, so watch for that.

The drop down to 1,100m for this looks okay, but jockey Blake Shinn will have to be on his A-game to navigate his way through the field in the closing stages. If he gets free air, watch out. There’s a little bit of value about Arkansaw Kid as well, with VicBet currently offering $1.60 for the gelding to place.

Stats and Insights

  • tip
The Right Way is racing in career-best form and looks one of the hardest to beat after his strong Doomben win in Race 2 at Eagle Farm.
  • tip
Amreekiyah had no luck last start covering extra ground but looks set to improve with a kinder run. One to watch for sharp progress in Race 3 at Rosehill.
  • tip
Burning Bright stuck on bravely when nabbed late last start, and her on-speed style makes her a danger again in Race 3 at Morphettville.
  • tip
Tropical House produced a sharp turn of foot to win here last start and looks the one to beat again in Race 7 at Morphettville.

tip-strategyNow that you’ve got your horse racing multi bets sorted, what’s next? Well, it’s time to sit back and enjoy all the action. It’s going to be a great day of racing ahead as many look to begin their Spring Racing Carnival campaigns!
