I’m hoping that From The Peak can go one better from her debut at Newcastle. After that run, she was sent for a spell. Since then, she has had two trials, including a win, which is always a good guide. She’s strong enough to beat this field and I think she’ll do it with relative ease.

Dun Wondering isn’t exactly screaming value at around $1.40, but I’m happy to include him in my set of tips for today because I’m pretty confident in him. I think he’ll enjoy the rise in distance and on top of this, he has experience at the Ballarat track. There’s a lot to like about him.

Going against the favourite here and I think Forest Diamond, who is a market mover, presents solid value at around the $3.50 mark. Last time out, she finished strongly at Warracknabeal to end up just a length off the pace in fourth. If she can settle closer to the front in this one, she’ll be strong in the closing stages.

Stats and Insights

  • Outta Line placed in a Randwick trial. She is well-bred by Pierro and looks value in an even maiden field in Race 3 at Beaumont.
  • Magical Elegance won at Beaumont before a spell. She flopped first-up but is unbeaten at this track and could rebound in Race 7.
  • I Am Piki was a winner last start and lightly raced (2 wins, 4 placings from 8). She gets weight relief and is well drawn to go on with it in Race 7 at Ballarat.
