Quick Analysis:

I’m looking to get us off on the right foot in the first at Caulfield. Castellito looks a good bet to break her maiden. After her recent jump out at Cranbourne, I was pretty impressed by her, and at $4.00, she presents good value as well. The Begg stable has been killing it as of late as well.

Heading to Randwick now, and I think It’s A Knockout is ready to get back into the winner’s circle once again. She kicked off this prep with a win in a BM78 at the same track and trip. She goes up in grade for this one, but looks ready. Gets a softer track, which is another plus as well.

For the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes, I’m siding with the favourite, In Flight. We last saw In Flight win the Bob Charley Stakes in Randwick in early June. It was a gritty win on a Soft track, and she gets a Soft-rated track again here. Has been back at the trials since and looks ready for the win once again.

Stats and Insights

  • Ciaron Maher has multiple strong runners across the day at Caulfield (e.g. Stay Humble, Keep Your Cool), all with solid jumpout or recent form. His stable is in form.
  • At Caulfield, track conditions (soft) may suit horses like Recommendation, who has form on rain-affected ground.
