Cranbourne - Race 2, 12:45 PM

Top Pick:

2. Jamesjohno

Recommended Bet Type:

Win

Best Odds Available:

$2.70 with PlayUp

Quick Analysis:

Jamesjohno has been getting close to a win and I think now is the time. He has two second placings from four starts and he looks primed to head into the winner’s circle. I don’t think he should have any trouble dispatching this field, especially considering his run last time out at Bendigo. At $2.70, there’s still a bit of value there.

Wagga - Race 2, 1:15 PM

Top Pick:

11. Pride Of Jezza

Recommended Bet Type:

Each-Way

Best Odds Available:

$7.00/$2.50 with PlayUp

Quick Analysis:

Pride of Jezza looks like a solid each-way chance at around the $7.00 mark. He has two placings from six runs so far this prep, including a third place at the same track. Yet to place on a Soft-rated track in four attempts, but he drops in weight for this one and will have a fitness advantage.

Cranbourne - Race 6, 3:10 PM

Top Pick:

2. Juja Kibo

Recommended Bet Type:

Each-Way

Best Odds Available:

$6.00/$2.25 with Dabble

Quick Analysis:

Juja Kibo made his way from Europe and his first run for the Ciaron Maher barn was full of merit. Back in December, he finished sixth in a BM64 but was just 2.5L off the pace. Went off for a spell after that and came back fairly strong last month. Jockey John Allen sticks and should ride him more positively.

Stats and Insights

  • Oceanella has placed in 3 of 4 career starts, including a strong third at Seymour last time out. Now, she draws well in barrier 5 and looks ready to break through in Race 1 at Cranbourne.
  • Rock Revolution has 2 wins and 4 placings from 11 starts for the Waterhouse/Bott stable. He is drawn wide in Race 6 at Cranbourne but expected to roll forward and give a bold sight.
  • Tessarion ran 3rd on debut at Wagga at $41, showing ability on soft going. She’s an each-way play again in familiar conditions in Race 1 at the same track.
