Flemington, Race 1 - 3. Duchess Zou

In a field of eight, I’m siding with the favourite, Duchess Zou, in the first at Flemington. You can pick up the filly with odds of $1.85 at PlayUp right now. After back-to-back wins, Duchess Zou finished third in the Listed Creswick Stakes last time out, 2.25L off the leader.

She’s back at Flemington again and gets an extra 200m in this one, which looks ideal. For this race, she also books the services of a senior jockey, Craig Williams. Draws barrier six, which I think should suit as Duchess Zou can stay out of trouble early and then let down in the closing stages.

Flemington, Race 5 - 7. Sound It Out

Sound It Out is currently going around with odds of $5.00 with VicBet. Flemington looks to be the ideal track for the mare, and she was too good for her rivals last time out at Sandown, winning by 0.75L on a Heavy track.

She goes from a BM70 to a BM78 here, but she is ready for the step up. Sound It Out draws wide, which I think is why we are getting each-way value odds. It certainly wouldn’t surprise me to see her go back-to-back here.

Rosehill, Race 10 - 4. Bunker Hut

After three trials, we finally saw Bunker Hut in race action two weeks ago at Rosehill. He drew wide on that day, but managed to finish just 1.27L off the leader, in fourth place. Heads the same track in this one and draws much better this time out. He is currently paying $3.60 with Bet Right.

The extra 100m he’ll get in this one looks suitable as well. He will need to get into some clear air, but if he can, he’ll be difficult to hold out. If the inside ground is still suitable late in the day, Bunker Hut is the one to be on, and he can give them a good sight down the straight.
